PRESS RELEASE: Group of Colorado Automotive Repair Ships Are Changing Lives

Multiple Family Service Day Events Planned for May 10th

BOULDER, CO. (May 6, 2014) – On May, 10th, five TECH-NET Professional Automotive Repair Shops are joining forces to provide free automotive care to families in need in the Boulder County area. This group of local business owners is pleased to announce their participation in Family Service DayTM, a way for local businesses to help local families. Participating shops include The Auto Repair Place, Haglin Automotive & Boulder Transmission, Pellman’s Automotive Service, Stang Auto Tech, and Stan’s Automotive.

On this day of service, employees from all five shops will donate their time and talent to provide guests with a range of essential vehicle services and repairs at no charge. Services will include oil changes, tire rotations, and fluids top-off followed by a courtesy check of current and potential concerns. The group believes that serving the needs of their communities is part of their social responsibility as business owners. By sharing their talents as automotive professionals, they are providing a ‘hand up’ to families in their communities who need the help. It is estimated that over 120 families will be served on the state’s first Family Service Day. Events will take place between the hours of 9:00AM – 2:00PM at each shop location, with appointments necessary.

By partnering with several area nonprofits, the goal of this meaningful event will be to ensure safe and reliable transportation to many deserving families. The guests will come from nonprofit partners: A Precious Child, Circles of Boulder County, Emergency Family Assistance Association, Rocky Mountain Christian Church, and Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence.

A variety of fun activities, refreshments and entertainment are planned at each Family Service Day location. The Home Depot will be offering kids’ clinics at all five locations

with a team of store employees onsite to help children with a flower pot project. “What these

businesses are doing for our community is commendable,” stated Sarrah Presnell, assistant store manager. “We can’t wait to share in giving back,” Presnell added.

CARQUEST Auto Parts stores will be grilling hot dogs and hamburgers for the guests at all five locations. Other local businesses sponsoring the event include Chase Bank, Kenz and Leslie Distributing, Rudi’s Organic Bakery, State Farm Insurance and General Air & Supply, Yogurt Brothers, 5280 Donuts, and King Soopers. Moses Hermosillo, Branch Manager at Chase Bank’s Gunbarrel Branch said, “I’m honored to be part of an event that will help many people in our community achieve safer transportation for their families.”
